CHAPTERS 574 - 577

CHAPTER 574 I HOPE JANELL WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY

Their warm and harmonious family would be ruined by his persistence in revenge, and Janell would lose her most beloved father …

And the person who made the adorable Janell lose all of this was — her own uncle!

If he didn't find Edwin Carter to avenge his father no matter what his father said before his last breathe, his father wouldn't be able to rest in peace.

What the hell was he supposed to do?

   "Uncle!"

Janell's soft voice pulled Robert Michael back from his thoughts. When he came back to his senses, he saw Janell blinking at him.

Robert Michael forced a smile, "Janell, what's wrong?"

"Uncle is in pain, but of course I'll help Uncle get well again!" Janell leaned close to Robert Michael's hand and blew again, then raised her head and rolled her black eyes, softly saying, "Uncle, does it still hurt?"

"Janell cured uncle. Uncle won't feel any pain anymore." Robert Michael pursed his lips and smiled.

Janell's smile was so innocent, lively, cute, and carefree. She also trusted her uncle so much.

However, at this very moment, his mind was filled with thoughts of how to kill Janell's father …

Robert Michael couldn't imagine what would happen if Janell lost her father.

"Hmm, uncle doesn't feel any pain anymore. I'm here to accompany uncle to chat and make uncle happy. Mom will go down to see if dad is back yet." Seeing how thoughtful and considerate Janell was, Jane Ronan was also gratified.

"Yes mom, I'm here to accompany uncle. When daddy comes home, I will accompany daddy too." Although her uncle was here, Janell still loved her father the most.

"Alright, mom will tell dad, so you have to coax uncle to be happy." Jane Ronan looked at Robert Michael again and said, "Brother, I'm going to do something for a while. If you need to speak with me, you can call me at any time."

"Janell, tell Uncle what happened in your kindergarten today?" Robert Michael didn't want to care about Jane Ronan at all. He was worried that he wouldn't be able to hold back and tell her everything.

Jane Ronan understood him, so she didn't say anything more and turned around to leave, leaving the two of them with space.

Janell said seriously, "The kindergarten children are not obedient and do not look good. I do not like it and do not play with them."

"Wow! You felt that they were ugly, so you didn't want to play with them? " Robert Michael asked with an exaggerated expression.

Janell nodded her head adorably, "Mhmm, mhmm. My little friend isn't good-looking, so I don't like him!"

"You little girl!" Robert Michael reached out his hand to pinch her chubby face and smiled, "You must have learned this kind of illness from your little aunt."

Although it wasn't a good habit to judge a person by his appearance, Janell couldn't be blamed.

Their members were all of such high beauty that it defied common sense. Naturally, Janell had a higher opinion of them all.

"Uncle, it hurts!" Janell slapped her uncle's hand away and flattened her mouth.

Her uncle was not cute at all, and he had pinched her face so hard that it hurt.

Robert Michael rubbed Janell's face again and asked, "Which man in the world do you think is the most good-looking?"

Without even thinking, Janell reported, "Father is the most beautiful, the most beautiful person to look at is Brother Lucas!"

Janell also emphasized on one of the "most beautiful" ideas, so the meaning could be imagined.

He was not on the pretty list. Robert Michael was a little hurt and asked again, "Janell, don't tell me uncle isn't good-looking?"

Janell continued, "Father and Big Brother Lucas are the most beautiful. Uncle and grandpa are the second most beautiful …"

Robert Michael just wanted to spit out a mouthful of blood. He clearly knew that Janell had only two men living in her heart. One was her father, and the other was her Big Brother Lucas.

Janell's list was definitely not in terms of looks, but in terms of the position in her heart.

Her dad and Big Brother Lucas were the most important people in her heart, so she naturally put her dad and Big Brother Lucas first.

Thinking of Janell's Big Brother Lucas, Robert Michael also felt sorry for her. Such a good boy, the key point was how he pitied Janell, yet he left just like that.

Janell must still be thinking that when she grows up, her Big Brother Lucas will come back.

Janell had already lost someone important to her. If she lost her father …

Thinking of this, Robert Michael sucked in a breath of cold air.

He could not imagine what would happen to Janell after she lost her father. He could not bear Janell's tears. He loved to see Janell's sweet smile.

He also hoped that whenever Janell saw him in the future, she would call him her uncle instead of treating him as her father's enemy.

Robert Michael sat up, hugged Janell's small body and said softly, "If dad were to go to a distant place one day, would you miss dad?"

"Of course I will miss dad, I don't want dad to go far away, I want dad to stay by Janell's side." When Janell heard the words' far away ', she was slightly frightened.

Previously, when she didn't have a mother, they told her that her mother had gone far away, so she hadn't been able to see her mother.

When she woke up one day and couldn't see Big Brother Lucas anymore, everyone told her that Big Brother Lucas had gone to a faraway place and would only come back when she had grown up.

Therefore, she was determined not to let her father go far away. She wanted him to stay by her side.

She wanted her father to make her milk powder in the evening, to comb her pretty hair in the morning, and to practice Taekwondo with her … There were so many things that she needed her father by her side.

Janell tugged at the pigtails on her head, asking in a soft voice, "Uncle, Daddy did it for Janell, is it nice?"

"Very good!" Robert Michael smiled and said, "Janell's hairstyle is very nice to look at."

Janell held Robert Michael's head and smacked him on the face, "Of course you look good, Uncle looks good too."

Her soft and tender lips kissed his face, the sweetness seeped into the depths of Robert Michael's heart.

Robert Michael couldn't help but hug Janell and kiss her.

For Janell, for Jane Ronan … He decided to give Edwin Carter a chance and to observe Edwin Carter's actions in secret.

As long as Edwin Carter truly loved Janell and Jane Ronan, he could pretend that he didn't know anything and let Edwin Carter go once.

He could leave. If he couldn't see Edwin Carter care for them, he wouldn't think about revenge.

As for his father, in the future, he would go to heaven to give his father an explanation.

Moreover, he believed that his father, who loved Jane Ronan so dearly, must also wish for his daughter and granddaughter to be happy!

CHAPTER 575 I WANT TO THROW YOU DOWN

In the evening, a light drizzle fell from the sky and the temperature seemed to drop by a few degrees. The weather in Jiangbei was now in the middle of autumn.

The weather forecast reported that cold air was coming down from the north and the weather in Jiangbei would probably be colder by a week or so.

Suddenly, the temperature dropped. Jane Ronan was not prepared at all. She was still wearing her thin shirt and stood outside in the cold wind and the light rain. She was truly beautiful and "frozen".

Normally, if they didn't have to work overtime, Edwin Carter's car would arrive home at 6: 30 sharp.

Today, Jane Ronan had been waiting at the gate for a while, but Edwin Carter didn't show up.

She could have gone back and added a coat before coming out, but she was worried that Edwin Carter would come back right after she went back.

She hoped that when he returned, she would be the first to see her … Actually, she wanted to see him earlier.

Jane Ronan rubbed her hands as she stood on the security platform with her eyes fixed on the far side of the road. As long as Edwin Carter's car drove over, she would definitely be able to find him at the first possible moment.

After a while, Edwin Carter's car finally drove into Jane Ronan's line of sight.

Seeing that he was getting closer to her, the haze that Jane Ronan had waited for more than half an hour disappeared. She couldn't help but smile.

At this moment, the sky had already darkened. The lights of the lamps lit up, illuminating the drizzling rain in front of the car. It was like a curtain of rain, giving off a kind of hazy beauty.

Edwin Carter originally sat in the back seat and closed his eyes to rest. He only opened his eyes when the car arrived at home.

When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw through the car window was Jane Ronan standing in the drizzle.

With her long hair down, she wore an apricot-colored dress. She had probably been standing in the rain for a while already, and her hair and dress had been soaked by the rain.

This Jane Ronan looked really pretty. She was delicate, but also tough. She was incredibly beautiful.

All of a sudden, Edwin Carter's gaze went blank. He even forgot that Jane Ronan was waiting for him while standing in the rain and blowing cold wind.

Thus, after the driver stopped the car, Edwin Carter still sat in the car in a daze and forgot to get off.

Only when Jane Ronan ran towards him did he realize that he looked like an eighteen or nineteen year old brat. His heart was beating rapidly because he was looking at a girl, and even his brain was no longer able to control itself.

Jane Ronan stood outside the car and lightly tapped on his window. She smiled and said, "Mr. Carter, the car is home. Are you still dozing off?"

Edwin Carter hurriedly opened the car door and got off. He then pulled Jane Ronan into his arms.

Her body was very cold, and the cool feeling was spreading from where they were in contact to his body bit by bit.

He hugged her even more tightly, wishing that he could rub her into his blood and bones, while reprimanding her, "If the weather is bad, why are you staying outside? Why did you run over here?"

"Waiting for you to get off work!" Jane Ronan lowered her head and rubbed it against his chest, then looked up at him, "Mr. Carter, it's been hard on you. Welcome home!"

"Are you stupid? It's so cold and you don't even know how to wear another set of clothes." Edwin Carter rubbed her head. Although he said something to scold her, his words were full of care for her.

"I'll pay attention next time." Jane Ronan took his hand and led him out, "You must be exhausted to be home so late. I'll do a massage for you after we eat later. "

Edwin Carter chuckled. "When did you learn massage?"

Jane Ronan glanced at him. "Do you even need to learn something like that? I can assure you that it will make you comfortable. "

Edwin Carter said, "Alright, then I'll try it out tonight. How's Mrs. Carter's amateur work skills?"

   "Daddy!"

As soon as they reached the door, Janell came bounding over.

Edwin Carter held Jane Ronan's hand with one hand, while Janell ran towards him with the other. He hugged her and kissed her. "It seems like our Janell has grown even taller."

"Yes I am tall! It grew so tall, so tall!" Janell said, gesturing with her hands in a way that made Edwin Carter and Jane Ronan laugh.

"Where's Uncle?" Jane Ronan touched Janell's face and asked.

"Uncle is sleeping, I want to accompany you." In fact, it was her uncle who pinched her face and hurt her, so she secretly ran away.

Jane Ronan, of course, didn't know this. She thought Robert Michael had gone back to sleep after the shot, so she asked Linda to prepare some light food for him and personally sent it to Robert Michael.

He didn't know what she did to this big brother, but when he saw her, he immediately got angry and told her to put down the congee before he kicked her out.

When Jane Ronan returned to her room, Janell had already fallen asleep. Edwin Carter had just come out of the bathroom with only one towel covering his body, revealing eight abs that he never showed to anyone else.

This picture of a beautiful man coming out of a bath was enough to cause anyone to have nosebleeds. Jane Ronan's little heart was like a disobedient fawn, rampaging about in her chest.

If not for her physical condition, she really wanted to push down Mr. Carter …

Edwin Carter also noticed her burning gaze and smiled: "What's going on in that little head of yours?"

"I was thinking about how to knock you down!"

Jane Ronan thought like this in her heart and didn't intend to say it out loud. However, her mouth didn't stop moving as she directly said it out loud.

Jane Ronan immediately realized that something was wrong. Her face was as red as a peach that had just matured.

"Not yet. The first three months of pregnancy are a dangerous period. " Edwin Carter smiled evilly, but his tone was serious.

Jane Ronan felt she had no more face to see anyone. At least she didn't have the courage to look up at the man in front of her tonight.

She wanted to pretend that nothing had happened and hide in the bathroom, but just as she moved, Edwin Carter grabbed her and asked in a serious tone: "Do you really want it that much?"

"What do I want?" Jane Ronan's reaction was slow. She swore that she really did not understand Edwin Carter's meaning and did not do it on purpose.

So when she lifted her head and met his dubious gaze, Jane Ronan planned to dig a hole in the ground and try not to embarrass herself greatly this time.

However, just when she wanted to dig a hole to hide in, Edwin Carter's low and sexy voice sounded in her ear once again.

With a smile, he said, "No matter how much you think about it, you have to bear with it. After the danger has passed, I'll help you!"

   Jane Ronan: "…"

   Ahh!

She didn't think about it. She only thought about it for a moment, not thinking about anything else.

   What should he do?

I really want to hit him!

Beat him until he lost his memories, letting him completely forget about what just happened.

Edwin Carter hugged Jane Ronan and patted her on the back, saying, "Okay, quickly go and take a bath. I'll wait for you to massage me."

Jane Ronan pouted as she thought to herself, I don't even want to take care about you anymore, who's going to give you a massage?

CHAPTER 576’ EQ’ DOES NOT IMPROVE

Jane Ronan tossed and turned in the bathroom for a while before coming out, hoping that Edwin Carter would be asleep by the time she came out.

   However, Edwin Carter didn't sleep.

He leaned against the headboard, a book in his hand, and pored over it intently.

Since he wasn't asleep yet, he might as well read seriously, as long as his attention wasn't on her.

Jane Ronan looked away from Edwin Carter, pretending that he couldn't see her either.

She quietly walked around the bed and tried to climb onto the other side of Janell's bed, so that Mr. Carter wouldn't be able to notice her.

Looking at Jane Ronan's shameless behavior, Edwin Carter felt funny. In order to suppress his laughter, he felt like his chest was trembling.

Finally, when Jane Ronan thought that Edwin Carter didn't notice her, she laid safely on the left side of Janell. She let out a light breath and noticed that Edwin Carter's scorching gaze was already fixed on her.

It seemed like her meticulous actions from before had caught the attention of her husband. However, this man didn't utter a single word as he silently watched her making a joke.

   Jane Ronan rolled her eyes.

She suddenly felt that she despised him!

"Hmm? Didn't you say that you would massage me? " Edwin Carter seemed to be flipping through books as his attention was already on Jane Ronan.

"Maybe another day. Today, I'm going to take care of Janell. " Jane Ronan laid beside Janell, treating the little girl as her shield.

Edwin Carter was really such a man. Even after so many years had passed, his EQ still had not improved. He still looked like an idiot.

He clearly knew that she was currently in an awkward situation. Why could he give in for her a little??

Would anyone laugh at him doing so?

"It's time for our Janell to learn to sleep alone." Janell was over four years old, and Edwin Carter decided it was time to let her learn to be independent and not be a light bulb anymore.

"No, I can't rest easy if she doesn't sleep by my side." Jane Ronan was reluctant to let her daughter go to bed alone.

If Edwin Carter insisted on letting Janell sleep alone, Jane Ronan would definitely go with Janell.

Edwin Carter did not say anything else. After all, he had something to do and did not like to talk about it.

Jane Ronan lowered her head and kissed Janell. Then, she raised her head and asked, "Edwin Carter, do you know any pretty, virtuous, and sensible girls?"

Edwin Carter put the book on the bedside table: "Yes."

"Where?" Upon hearing that, Jane Ronan's eyes shone with excitement. "You know a good girl. Introduce two more to me."

Edwin Carter put his arm around the mother and daughter pair and said, "I only know one. I don't know many of them."

"One is fine, it's better than nothing." Jane Ronan rubbed her hand against his elbow. "Tell me quickly, where is she? How beautiful? How virtuous is it? How empathetic is she? "

Edwin Carter carried Janell away and then place her in his arms. "She is in my arms. As for how beautiful it is and how empathetic it is, you should be well aware of it. "

Finally this man knew how to coax her to be happy with his sweet words again. Jane Ronan's heart was filled with a hint of sweetness, but she didn't want to give in so easily his sweet words..

She pinched his waist: "Edwin Carter, I'm talking business with you, why are you bullshitting with me?"

Edwin Carter said seriously, "Everything I said to you is true."

Perhaps in the eyes of others, Jane Ronan had a lot of shortcomings, but all he saw were her strengths. In his eyes, Jane Ronan was always eye-catching and bright.

"Then help me find a beautiful sister-in-law." Jane Ronan sighed softly and said in a muffled voice, "Big brother is sick today. He keeps calling my father."

"What?" Edwin Carter's body stiffened slightly.

Jane Ronan did not notice his nervousness and continued, "I think he must have been sick because he had been alone for too long. When a person is sick, they will be very fragile. When they are weak, they will think of their parents. I think he needs someone to be with him. "

Jane Ronan understood this best. Before, whenever she came to Jiangbei from the Kyotol, the person she missed the most when she was sick was her mother.

At home, when she caught a cold, her mother would watch her take the medicine and give her a pot of ginger soup. Living alone outside, no matter how tired she was, she had to endure it all by herself.

Hearing Jane Ronan's words, Edwin Carter felt slightly relieved. As long as Robert Michael didn't leak anything, everything would be fine.

He rubbed Jane Ronan's head and said, "You can't force matters of the heart. He didn't meet the person he wanted to marry, so it's useless even if you were to introduce him."

Jane Ronan disagreed with Edwin Carter's point of view.

She said, "If I don't introduce someone to him, he won't even meet her. How would he know if he wants to marry her? Fate is such a thing, I think we need someone to lead the way. If there is a suitable candidate you know, just set them up. Who knows they might like each other. "

Jane Ronan smiled and continued, "Mr. Carter, when you proposed to me that day, you must have had the right impression of me."

If he hadn't fallen for her the first time they met, Jane Ronan wouldn't believe that someone as strict as Edwin Carter would randomly find a woman to register for marriage.

   "Yes." Edwin Carter nodded.

He didn't marry Jane Ronan for love, but one thing Edwin Carter clearly understood was that when he saw her, he would feel very comfortable.

He couldn't stand seeing her being bullied. He wanted to protect her, so all of this happened afterwards.

Jane Ronan squeezed into his arms, buried her head in his chest and whispered, "Mr. Carter, don't forget, we are also engaged on a blind date."

"Mhmm, then I'll get Eric Palter to look for a suitable candidate. If there's a suitable woman, I'll get him to contact Robert Michael." Hearing what Jane Ronan said, Edwin Carter had no strength to refute her.

Although he did some tricks behind her back to have that blind date with Jane Ronan, he still couldn't deny that their marriage started with a blind date.

Therefore, he had to admit that dating wasn't unreliable. He could also find someone who could accompany him for a lifetime.

Jane Ronan asked, "Mr. Carter, you said that you met quite a few women when you were working, right? Don't you find any one of them pleasing to your eyes?"

"There are." Anyone who's not fine wouldn't be working for him in the first place.

"There is?" Jane Ronan immediately pinched him. "You still dare to say yes?"

"Why can't I say that?" He was only speaking the truth. Why was Jane angry about this?

The ancients said that a woman's undersea needle. It's true. Can't ever guess what she's thinking.

"If I say you can't say it, then you can't say it. I don't need any reason."

"Alright, you have the final say."

As she spoke, Jane Ronan fell into a deep sleep in Edwin Carter's arms.

Looking at Jane Ronan's peaceful sleeping face, Edwin Carter was not sleepy at all. All he could think about was the murder of George Michael.

   Jane Ronan!

No matter what, this time, he had to ensure her safety!

CHAPTER 577 KILLING PHOTOS

"Buzz, buzz ~ ~ ~"

The phone on the bedside table vibrated twice, Edwin Carter immediately picked up the phone to check.

Edwin Carter quickly opened the mail application and clicked on the latest email.

When he clicked it open, he saw some few photos attached.

There was a series of still photographs, but when put together, it looked like a running scene. Recording the process of George Michael's murder.

The few pictures were extremely bloody, Edwin Carter seemed to be in a trance and could feel the strength of the assassin's knife on George Michael.

Looking at the photo on the phone, Edwin Carter slightly squinted his eyes and clenched his fist.

These sick sadists better pray that he never finds them.

Just as Edwin Carter finished reading the email, Luis George called.

Edwin Carter subconsciously looked at Jane Ronan and Janell, seeing them sleeping soundly, he got off the bed and went to the balcony to answer the call. "Speak."

Luis George said: "Boss Carter, the matter of Elder Michael, the murderer pointed to Kyoto's Tyrion. "But the evidence against him for his murder is full of holes. It's obvious that someone is fabricating the evidence."

Edwin Carter narrowed his eyes as he looked into the dark distance. He coldly opened his mouth and said, "Then we will continue to investigate until the real culprit is found. Even if you have to flip the entire Jiangbei over, you must still find him. "

At this moment, Edwin Carter did not know that the person the murderer want to frame was not Mr. Tyrion at all, instead the target was him.

   — — Edwin Carter!

………………….

The night had always been a good time for dirty tricks.

In the wee hours of the morning, a worn-out van sped rapidly towards the south from the Central District of Jiangbei.

The van drove for about two hours before it slowed down at the foot of a mountain.

   M. Oakview was located at the southernmost point of Jiangbei City, surrounded by the sea on three sides. It was the second highest mountain in Jiangbei City.

There were many beautiful peaks on the mountain and they looked very impressive. Due to the lack of development, very few people came here.

Even if someone would come, it would be the odd adventurous hiker or so.

After the old van stopped, two tall, muscular, fully armed men got out. They looked around to make sure no one was around before they dragged a corpse from the back of the van.

The corpse was completely naked and face down, so it was hard to tell what it looked like. One could only roughly tell that it was a male.

In the darkness, the two men did not say a word. They carried the corpse up the mountain with great tacit understanding. After walking for about half an hour, they had finally reached the depths of the forest. Only then did the two men stop.

They dragged a few large branches away, and then dug up some weeds. A hole that they had dug a long time ago appeared before their eyes.

From this, it could be seen that they didn't drag the corpse here to be buried. Instead, they had already prepared everything beforehand.

After the pit appeared, the two of them lifted the corpse and threw it into the pit.

This time, when they dropped the body, its face was facing up, and his face was visible.

Although his face had long since lost all color and was as pale as a sheet of paper, the outline of his facial features could still be seen. He was one of the two men who kidnapped George Michael whom Robert Michael had seen in the surveillance video.

And after George Michael was killed, Robert Michael also saw a man with an identical face behind Edwin Carter. That was why Robert Michael was even more certain that Edwin Carter was the real killer of George Michael.

After the two men left the bodies in the pit, they dug out two bottles of sulfuric acid from the toolbox they carried with them.

The two men unscrewed a bottle each and poured the sulfuric acid onto the corpse's face, causing the corpse to be corroded by the sulfuric acid and soon become unrecognizable. Even with the most advanced technology, there was no way to restore his looks.

After doing all this, the two men didn't panic as they buried the corpses. They then spread the dried branches and leaves on the corpses, erasing any traces left behind by the corpses.

In a short period of time, everything returned to how it was before. No one could tell that a corpse had been quietly buried here not long ago.

After doing all this, the two men returned on the same path.

Returning to the van, they drove it up another mountain road. A dozen minutes later, they came to a cliff.

They got out of the car and looked at the terrain, then returned to the car and destroyed the brakes. Together, they pushed the car off the cliff and into the choppy sea.

The two men had not spoken a word for hours, but their work had been well coordinated, and it was clear that they must have been trained professionally.

This time, they did not return on the same route. Instead, they climbed down from the cliff and got on a speedboat that came for them and then left quickly.

The speedboat moved away, leaving only the roar of the waves behind. Everything seemed to have calmed down, as if nothing had happened.

…………………..

The next day, it was still raining.

Robert Michael retreated with a high fever, but he still ignored Jane Ronan. When Jane Ronan talked to him, he ignored her, which made Jane Ronan extremely anoyed.

At first, he looked like a sick man, but the more Jane Ronan looked at him, the more furious she became.

She grabbed the cup of water from Robert Michael's hand and said angrily: "Robert Michael, tell me what you are unhappy with me. Don't show me that long face all day."

Robert Michael did not look at her and did not speak.

Jane Ronan moved closer to him again, "Robert Michael, I made you say what you were unhappy about. Can't you hear me?"

Being pestered by Jane Ronan, Robert Michael became anxious. He yelled back, "Do you want me to tell you that ‘our father was killed’ for you to be happy?"

Robert Michael roared. His voice was so hoarse that it caused people's hearts to ache. Coupled with his haggard expression, it was as if he just escaped from hell. Jane Ronan looked and felt  heartache seeing that.

Robert Michael stared at her. After a while, he said, "Go out and leave me alone."

Jane Ronan pursed her lips, "Brother, father has already passed away for many years. The person who harmed him is already dead, so don't worry about it. We still have a long way to go, and we have to get on with our lives. "

Robert Michael pointed at the door, "I said, get out."

Jane Ronan stood up, walked two steps, then turned around and said, "I know you're sick, but I'm worried about you. I am your blood sister, tell me what is on your mind. I I can help you …"

"You can't help me." Robert Michael smiled helplessly yet desolately. Tears rolled down from the corners of his eyes as he laughed. "You can't help me, no one can help me …"

He could only hide the pain of losing his father in his heart and not seek revenge on the murderer.

   "Brother …"

"Go out and leave me in peace." He needed to be alone. He needed to think about what to do.
